Alice in Wonderland

The famous director-Tim Burton- is at it again, creating a fantastic adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. This new movie is planning to be released March 5, 2010. I expect it to be a movie that has a surprise coming around every corner without you expecting it.

Alice Kingsley(Mia Wasikowska) who is supposed to be getting married unexpectedly falls down a rabbit hole to return to Wonderland...but this time, she's on a mission.

The red queen(Helena Bonham Carter) has taken over Wonderland. Now, Alice must restore peace. Throughout her journey, she meets a couple of old friends: the Mad Hatter(Johnny Depp)and the White Queen(Anne Hatheway). Will Alice be able to save Wonderland?

This adaptation is being distributed by Walt Disney Pictures and is rated to be an adventure fantasy family film. It is even coming out in 3-D! How cool is that?

Tim Burton the director of The Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhands, and The Nightmare Before Christmas is the director of this amazing adaptation.

I strongly recommend this movie to kids of all ages. I anticipate it to be an amazing film.I can't wait to see it in theatres!

The Princess and the Frog

Have You Ever Kissed A Frog Before?

Have you ever kissed as frog before? Well, if you have, I would watch the movie, The Princess and the Frog to learn how to turn back into a human. This movie has a fantastic twist on the original book, The Princess and the Frog. It can be easily described in one word: outstanding.
Tiana’s life dream has been to open up her own restaurant. It was her father’s dream too, but it was never fulfilled. Now, Tiana is planning to carry out that dream of theirs.
“The prince is here, the prince is here!” everybody was shouting when the handsome prince arrived. Prince Naveen is a prince whose parents have cut him off financially and is left to fend for himself.
Tiana is a waitress who has been saving money to buy her restaurant. She has no time for fun; all she does is work, work, and work.
When Tiana’s friend is crowned princess of the Mardi Gras and is having Prince Naveen for dinner, she pays Tiana enough money to buy her restaurant, to cater the food.
Prince Naveen may be arriving a bit late to dinner because on his way there, he meets an evil voodoo master who turns him into a frog. Instead of the real Prince Naveen arriving, a fake Prince arrives to the dinner, while the real Prince Naveen has kissed Tiana (thinking she was a princess) and now they are both frogs. How will they turn back into humans and how will Tiana fulfill her dream? You’ll have to watch the movie to find out.
This movie created twist on the original copy, The Princess and the Frog. I think that they twisted it into a fantastic film that will leave you hungry for more. This movie included several musical numbers and Tiana turned into a frog instead of the frog turning back into a handsome prince again.
I can honestly say that Randy Newman did a magnificent job in composing the music.. I can also say that the lead animators-Ron Clements and John Musker- gave it their best in creating the movie.
I strongly recommend this movie for children of all ages. AS I have said before, this movie is easily described in one word: outstanding.

Reality or Wonderland; Which Would You Choose?

Tired of following rules and doing what you’re told to do all the time, then Join Phoebe Lichten (Elle Fanning) in Wonderland. Join her on facing a few problems here and there; attending a tea party, auditioning for a play, having to see a therapist, but most importantly, join her on a magnificent journey throughout Wonderland. Phoebe in Wonderland; a movie like no other.
Phoebe Lichten is trying two live in two separate worlds: reality and Wonderland. It may seem difficult for you to choose, but for her, it’s-without a doubt- Wonderland. The auditions for Alice in Wonderland are coming soon and she has a difficult time figuring out if she should try out or not, but when “Alice” flashes her smile, the decision is made. No one wants the part of Alice more than Phoebe does, but when she gets the part of Alice she realizes that keeping it may be a bit of a problem.
You see, Phoebe has tourette syndrome- the inability to control her impulse. She can’t stop herself from calling people fat or spitting at her classmates when she gets the urge. When the class pet dies, the students immediately blame Phoebe. They begin to taunt her and the teacher won’t do anything about it. That is when one of the students spit at her; therefore, causing her to spit at one of the children and is taken out of the play as punishment from the principal. Her mom(Felicity Huffman) and Miss Dodger(Patricia Clarkson) -the drama teacher- work really hard to get her back into the play.
Jamie Madison (Ian Coletti) is her only friend and he is there for her through most of her problems. Her sister(Bailee Madison) is reluctant in helping her. Her dad(Bill Pullman) seems to be a bit confused at what is happening. You’ll have to watch the movie to find out more.
Phoebe in Wonderland doesn’t just show how children cope with the condition, but it shows how parents cope with the same condition that Phoebe has. Hillary Lichten-Phoebe’s mom- takes her to a therapist; only to find out that he wants to medicate her. Imagine what it’s like for the families who do go through that.

I strongly recommend this family movie to children of all ages. The movie can be described in one word: fantastic. Phoebe in Wonderland; a movie like no other.
